WHAT IS SUCCESS TO YOU?
Success is the ultimate goal in life. But for me, not in the way you think. I think success is the realization that all we have is now. This life is right now, it’s all happening right now. It’s all about the journey, and soaking up every moment of it, not just the end result.

WHAT IS MAGIC FOR YOU?
Magic is the universal forces at work. It’s the direct deep connection that we all have to source, the unwavering forces that are always available for us to connect with, and tap into. It’s the spirit world here with us in every moment. It’s the connection with the universe, our own mother earth, and all of her majestic forces at work.

WHAT IS LOVE FOR YOU?
Love is staying present. Love, is a constant evolution. Love is where I feel the most connected to myself, to source, and then to those around me. Love is that force imbedded in me as a mother, that will give everything I have no matter how tired, how “not in the mood”, however not available that I am. Love is when I am always choosing the better thoughts, the better actions, the higher purpose. Only when coming from a place of love, do ideas and inspiration come to me.

WHAT IS YOUR BEAUTY/HEALTH PRACTICE?
I always make sure I am listening to my body first. My body prefers a diet of traditional foods, with pure ingredients, not too far from what our ancestors may have eaten. Since our skin is the largest organ in our body, and we are eating essentially everything that goes on our body, I wouldn’t put anything on my body that I couldn’t eat also. I take the greatest care that everything put on my body, and my children’s bodies is crafted with the purest ingredients, and nothing else. Other than that, movement for me is so important. I’ve never settled on any form of exercise for very long, except for dancing! Nothing gets me moving my body like a live concert or a good playlist.

WHAT MAKES YOUR SPIRIT GLOW?
My children! Seeing my children together, laughing and playing, there is nothing that makes me smile and laugh more. They are always connected to source, and full of laughter and love, reminding us all of the way to be. The fact that these two beings both came from my womb, is a direct connection to me and my spirit, and also happens to be my biggest accomplishment. That, basking in the warm sun, and being in my favorite spot in the woods.

HOW DO YOU STAY CENTERED IN THE MIDDLE OF CHAOS?
Well, for starters, I don’t know if I always do! Stay centered that is. I think I stay centered by not getting stuck in any one place. I truly try and ebb and flow with each day, and with each moment. If life is chaotic and nuts that day, the more I can be embracing every second and being along for the ride, while maintaining my own rhythm that is unique to me, the better I will feel. A quick nap or meditation can always provide an excellent reset for me.

WHAT CAUSES/ORGANIZATIONS ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?
Right now, one of the very most important moments in all of history is happening. The number of times I’ve almost packed it up and headed out to Standing Rock can be counted on more than 2 hands. The water protectors at Standing Rock are not just standing up to protect the reservation land, they are standing up for the clean water for millions of people. If there’s ever been anything that needs our help, any reason to give, now is the time.

IF YOU COULD SAY ONE THING TO THE WORLD WHAT WOULD YOU SAY? Go forth with joy! 🙂 WHAT HAS BEEN THE GREATEST LESSON AS A MOTHER YOU’VE LEARNED?
Really, we’re all in this together. I don’t do authoritative parenting, and I am not the boss of my child. I want to show my child that they are their own guiding light, and I’m here and available for any and all support that he needs (I have 2 boys). We’re a team, all of us, and we work together to make our life come together in wonderful ways, every day. I was blessed to have a Taurus boy for my first born, and he’s one day apart from my birthday, I’m also a Taurus. Any time I’ve ever tried any parenting with authoritative style, we butt heads and I go back to the drawing board. Some would tell me, you just need to break their spirit and make sure they listen to you. Um, what? Break my child’s spirit!? No, no, that’s not what we’re here for. It’s everything I can do every day to make sure the spirits in my children soar become their own guiding light. Our journey is constantly evolving, and we are always aiming to do whatever feels best, for everyone involved.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A NEW MOTHER?
Always trust your intuition! Some days it may feel like you’re making things up in your mind, but your heart always knows. Always. I never told my child “oh don’t cry” as a baby, because I didn’t want to teach him not to be emotional from such a young age. Cry all you want! I’m here to help you find whatever it is you need, we can work this out together. When I was pregnant with my first baby, my mother told me, “babies never cry for no reason.” From birth, with both of my babies, I would figure out whatever they needed from the moment they started fussing. I recently learned that in tribal cultures, a baby would be picked up and held by the nearest available person before they even started to cry. Even in high emotions with my older boy having an outburst as he did in his toddler years, I didn’t try and stop it from happening, I just stood by to see how I could help.
